Hi all, I would like to start understanding how to set axis assignments in simtools using a mini 6dof platform with RC servo.

Hi noorbeast yes I have already modified the code for the six servos and in the video they move (5 because one has to arrive), I am reading all the various posts concerning the 6dof but I have not yet understood which way to use to organize the axes.

Yes ok, with my 2dof I learned to play with the setup of the two axes, now with 6 things change, I would like to know if there is a way or procedure to do the setup, in the various posts I shot you can see the success of the operation but it is not explained how, I will try as I think the others have done, it was only to find out if there is a method.

I followed the settings according to the logic of NjMotion https://www.xsimulator.net/community/threads/prototype-6dof.5045/
and it seems to go quite well, at least I deduce from the movements of the servos as I still have to mount the upper platform
soon the last missing servo should arrive and then it will be easier ... I think !!

Heave: all actuactors should move in the same direction.
Yaw: the actuators should work in a reserve way by pairs. 1 and 6 are reversed, 2 and 3, then 4 and 5.
Roll: 1 and 2 are set the same. 5 and 6 are reversed with respect to 1 and 2. 3 and 4 are not used.
Pitch: 1, 6, are set the same way. 3 and 4 reversed and 2 and 5 are not used.
For Surge and Sway I find it more difficult also because I can't visualize the movement well without having the upper platform ...
Now, I don't know if what I wrote corresponds to the real movement it would take some help ...

    I would say a disaster !!!
It is also true that I had done the setup without the upper platform so a bit randomly, now I have to refine the movements and here I would need someone to help me, perhaps showing me the way on how to start ....

However, I must not get discouraged !!
For those who want to help me and to be able to help someone who might have the same difficulties as me, here is a picture of how I wired and numbered the axes that are shown on the "Axis Assignment" tab on Simtools.

But it is a base to work on at least, now reading the tutorials and having a working prototype I can try to refine the setup of the axes ....
Slowly I hope to make it!

I'll stop here for today, test on NoLimits2, I have to lower the percentages of the axes a little more ...
