Then here I am novice in simulator, but I started in the crazy project to do a simulator house frabrication to please my son for Christmas!

So according to the advice of friends I left to make a 3dof without gimbals

It is a kit of 4 motors of 120 watts with 2 cards sabertooth 2 * 32 and an arduino nano

I will detail with photos tuto ...

For the moment I just come to finish the assembly;)

But i encounter a worry i would like to know how to get the diy version of simtools as good news have passed to v2 but the catch is that I only have a demo of the software!

Then to start with my first question: as a big beginner how to get this famous version? And also know what is the difference between the diy version and the paid version?

Because the concern I currently encounter is that I can not test it in games because I is neither the software nor the plugins !!! :(

I wanted to know how to get at least this software and have at least a plugin of a game on which my boy will play!

I come back to you quickly to show you in more detail the monster in question;)

Thank you in advance to have read and hope to be useful on your specialized forum

You can download SimTools 2.0 here: https://www.xsimulator.net/simtools-motion-simulator-software/

In demo mode it includes the plugin for Live for Speed, so you can test it with that game, and LFS also had a free demo download available: https://www.lfs.net/downloadlfs

The are eligibility criteria to access the discount code to get the full DIY version of SimTools 2.0 and that includes have a build thread on Xsimulator.net and that none of the components or the whole sim are provided as a kit specifically for motion simulation.

The Professional version of 2.0 will provide additional features other than motion, such as transducer support, dash functionality, remote profiling and movie synced motion and editing: https://www.xsimulator.net/community/threads/simtools-2-0-question-and-answer.8175/

the demo version is the version of sim tools you require. when you have uploaded a build thread you can apply for a free licence, which will unlock to DIY

You really need to develop a proper motion profile for each game and can refine that with specific track/car profiles in Game Manager.

It takes time and practice but makes a huge difference.
