Here is the FAQ information about restrictions on new member to prevent spam: https://www.xsimulator.net/communit...ed-posts-needed-before-links-can-be-used.150/

As per previous advice the best way to reach the required number of posts is to start your own project thread and outline what you plan to build: https://www.xsimulator.net/communit...mber-introduce-here.1737/page-230#post-192468

While doing your project research you will likely have some questions, so post those on your build thread and you will quickly reach the required number of posts to add links.

    Hello,

I am a student working on a 6DOF simulator for research purposes and stumbled upon this site. I am extremely invested in this project, and am also in need of guidance, as I do not know much about the kinds of motor torque requirements for something as large as a 6DOF. We are currently invested in using six motors of some kind to drive our platform, but our calculations have shown we may need g forces up to .8g heave, lifting a total of 400 lbs. I am hoping I can obtain more guidance from the community, as the motors we have searched so far are not powerful enough to drive this project. If anyone has knowledge of cheap motors that could do that job, I would greatly appreciate it (Potentially 80N.m per motor). Thanks everyone

Hi all, I'm Bruce from Tennessee. Joined a while back, been stalking the pages trying to gain information.
started sim racing back when Grand Turismo came out. Been Iracing past couple years. wanting to build a 3DOF.
I've been collecting parts past month. Going with worm gear motor should be here mid March. have my frame built and boards wired. I'll start a build thread soon, I'm sure I'll have plenty of question.

    Hi all,

Also new to the forum. I'm a mechanical engineer, have notions or good knowledge on just about anything.

I'm wondering though how the credit system works. As I signed up I noticed that you have the possibility to download the plugins using either purchased credits.
For me it's pretty weird that the software creator of simtools create the software but doesn't generate the patches?
And that there is some kind of weird double payment required. You pay for the simtools but get no game patches. You can pay for those here?

I'm quite confused. Coming from a platform like steam or any other platform where you either subscribe and things get done for you or you really do it yourself but it's freeware.. This seems to be neither ? Or am I missing something here?

Hello everyone. I'm Bo from Iowa. I joined not too long ago, and have been reading everything I can find and think of to research. I just saw here where we can introduce ourselves, so here I am! I am a self proclaimed tinkerer extraordinaire. I work in commercialization in the heavy equipment industry. I'm a private pilot and proud father of 3. I am building a 6DOF motion sim for training on the days when I cant get the plane out. I love to play in the shop and keep my mind busy and this seems like a great community to do so. Thanks for allowing me to partake!

    Dear fellow Xsimulator fans,

im Michael, located close to the City of Graz, Austria.
I'm playing racing games since the very first Indianapolis 500 from 1989

Starting with 14" monitor and keyboard input, moving to 17" and wheel, to a 19" and first self crafted rig with self made controls (wheel and 3 pedal system),
Upgrade to 3 monitors and later to VR with Oculus Rift CV1. Every setup was at its time stunning to me, closer and closer to reality.

Last year I replaced my loved selfmade static rig with a Fasetech Racing Cube RC4v3, for a short time motion compensation worked with Oculus CV1.

But the new owners didn't care about motion users, so I had to move on - HTC Vive pro.

I can't get the smile out of my face. It's so immersive, racing in VR with motion.

    Hello,
I am Jan from the Netherlands and interested in meccatronics. After many years modelbuilding (planes, speedboats, cars, drones, etc) i like to build something else, something new and real, a racesimulator it will be :)
There is a lot of useful information to find on this forum an i need to learn a looooooooot.

This is a working try out; 3DOF R, P, Y communicating with Arduino

    Hi all,
I just started my SFX-100 diy build and plan on using Sim Tools and the Thanos board. Can't wait to get it finished in a couple of months.

    Good morning.
I arrived on this site after doing research on google and after watching several videos on Youtube.
I am not an expert in computer science, I only have basic knowledge acquired over the years with video tutorials.
I have constructive skills. I can use some types of welding machines, I can work with fiberglass and a little carbon, I think they are excellent skills to start making the frame of my future homemade simulator.
I hope to learn from you, to draw on information to move forward in construction.
obviously, like most people I have a job that takes me full time, therefore, I have to carve out some time to dedicate myself to this new project.
At the start of the works, I will share my experience and my project with you. Thank you.
