this is an update of my 2dof progress, I have tried to drive it directly with 24v input to the wiper motor just to try, I want to ask how to put a potentiometer (I used 10k value) to the wiper motor. plans so tomorrow can try to get moving with simtools demo (while ready to apply for a DIY license, and I hope good luck getting it) Thank you.

It is best to connect a pot to the motor with a flexible coupling: https://www.xsimulator.net/community/faq/how-to-connect-protect-a-potentiometer.13/

Be aware that wiper motors generally need ground isolation: https://www.xsimulator.net/community/faq/wiper-motor-mandatory-ground-isolation.25/

If you are using the demo version of SimTools with Live for Speed then be aware LFS needs to be run in first person mode for a race to generate some necessary files: https://www.xsimulator.net/communit...run-in-first-person-mode-before-patching.365/

A motor with a lever provides effective torque in a range of about 38 degrees up and down, so the motor does not run 360 degrees, instead a pot is attached to the motor give positional feed back to the control board so the lever can be effectively moved anywhere in the target range: https://www.xsimulator.net/community/faq/fundamentals-of-motion-control-electronics.23/category

There are a variety of ways to connect and protect pots, both directly and indirectly: https://www.xsimulator.net/community/faq/how-to-connect-protect-a-potentiometer.13/

Personally I use Hall sensors rather than pots, as they have really good resolution, long life span and won't break if over rotated: https://www.xsimulator.net/community/faq/how-to-choose-potentiometer.238/
