Looking for opinions/experience regarding installing a monitor setup statically, or mounted on my 3DOF sim platform. Will only be using one large monitor, so weight if installed on the platform should be ok. What's the pros and the cons. Does it help with immersion having the monitor on the rig? I'm not wanting to go VR at the moment. Thanks.

It depends on your amount of moving and reference point. If you have large amount and reference point to sea level e.g. a flight sim you must install the monitor on rig. If you have reference point to road level and minor displacement you can do an easy robust way of static mounting.
