    Hi,

I just got my first new 2dof system from simukit.
Nearly finished the building so watching the next step with simtools.
I hope it will not be too hard to understand/setup, and maybe will need some help :)

    Alexis, from Belgium

    Hi

I've installed SIM TOOLS without license and LFS for testing.
I've read already lot of informations and I believe it's enough to make first tries... but not sure.

For now, the SIMUKIT arduino is connected and when I do "output testing" the both 2DOF motors do always the same move. There is something I do bad....

Perhaps from these screenshot somebody could find a bug in the setup... :)

Whatever I put in the "output testing", the two motors always do the same move... even if I put no entries at all.
And it apply when I click from 'turn on' to 'turn off', but I suppose it's the normal behavior of this button...

Also I had to dis-engage the potentiometers from the motors and turn them a bit. Without that nothing was moving... well still a bit lost but not say my last word :)

I did a run in practice mode (first person = cockpit view I presume?), but didn't see I had to patch.... I do a try... (but do I need to download the patch? I beleived it was free for testing..?)

    It's slowly improving...
If I feel the acceleration is too hard versus the deceleration. As I only can up/down the %surge for these 2 effect together, how could I push just the braking but not acceleration?

In the Tuning Center you can manually set Max and Min with different values, which will give a sharper response in the direction of the smaller value, over a shorter range, and a gentler response for the larger value over a bigger range. Differentiating the Min and Max values is often used to also simulate gear changes: https://www.xsimulator.net/community/faq/snappy-gear-change-motion.121/

    Ok thanks.
And for the overall balance between for example surge/sway/heave, will I have the same behavior if I put 50%/50%/50% VS 30%/30%/30%? I presume but to be sure to well understand the system...

I talk about the % in axis assignment like on the screenshot..

See both the SimTools Manual and the FAQs, for a 2DOF the total of all allocations should add up to around 100%, in practice you can go a little over as all axis are unlikely to be at their extreme except in a crash: https://www.xsimulator.net/community/faq/axis-assignment-percentage-totals.120/

Use the motion profile tuning tips in the FAQ to help determine how much % you add for each axis, initially refining each individually: https://www.xsimulator.net/community/faq/steps-to-create-a-motion-profile.228/

    Hello,

I wanted to go on my tests this evening but nothing work anymore.
I just restarted my PC and powered on the 2DOF and the output tests do nothing now... ??
What could happen as I didn't changed anything in the hardware/setup?

I try several things but don't find for now...
    Should I re-install simtools?

Ok solved, I had to uninstall COM1 in panel configuration windows & reconnect arduino USB cable (COM1 appeared duplicate in the list of ports)...
