    My Motion Simulator:
2DOF, 3DOF, DC motor, AC motor, SCN5, SCN6, SimAxe, Arduino, JRK, Joyrider, SimforceGT, Motion platform, 4DOF, 6DOF
I have connected all connection pins according to the picture with motor driver and H-Bridge and I also downloaded the SimTools software and installed it. I also downloaded the 2DOF code. I have done everything but the motors do not seem to work properly with the game play. For example when playing a car game the motors don't move when the car is driving it just keeps moving continuously or not with the game
I can even show a picture of the layout that i used from the website
Also i don't know what settings i need in my SimTools game engine
Its my first time making this.

The code I am using for the Arduino is 2DOF and 2 pins direction Hbridge. I am using windshield wiper motors and I will attach a picture of them i have also attached a picture of the settings which i am using, the connection of the pins and h-bridge and the arduino setup.

I am using SMC3 to adjust my motors. The problem is that my motors just keep spinning and the motors sometimes stop. When i change the settings in SMC3 and save it, it may still go back to just spinning or may stop.
Thank you for helping me on my project.

Had a similar problem with a quick bench test i tried noorbeast gave me a great link about earth isolation of motor casing after i did that motors seemed to function properly

While @semir said that they were wiper motors from the posted pictures I doubt that is actually the case. Generally speaking more powerful DC motors like those that are pictured do not need ground isolation.

This 2DOF project is going well but I still can't make it work. I sent pictures and information of what I made. I downloaded the code and put it in Arduino, but Arduino and SimTools still have no connection with each other but if it does connect my motors go really fast but they should be slow, so the potentimeters are getting damage . I used the internet to see how to connect but nothing works. My work is good but its just the connecting part that is the problem. Can you please give me more information, in full extent. I bought the software and plugin but it just doesn't seem to work.
Can you you think of anything else that could help me.

Before you can go further to SimTools SMC3 has to work properly. As a first step reduce PWMmin to zero. Before you are going to power up your motors check first your potentiometers if all is well wired and if they work as they should. Also a multimeter can be very handy

I have properly wired the pentometers and reduce the PWMmin to zero but the motors don't move or only move slightly. Are there any steps after this?

There are 10 steps in the SMC3 Initial Setup: https://www.xsimulator.net/communit...3dof-motor-driver-and-windows-utilities.4957/

    1. Disconnect the motor power supply
    2. Make sure Simtools is not running – we’re not ready for that yet!
    3. Wire up the Arduino (with SMC3 installed) to your H-Bridges and connect to your computer via USB
    4. Run the Windows SMC3 Utility software and make sure it communicates with the Arduino (There is no need to set baud rates, they are not configurable)
    5. Set the Kp, Ki, Kd, PWMmin, PWMmax, PWMrev to 0 for ALL motors (This will make sure the motors don’t move)
    6. Set Clip to 255 (you need to do this first) and Limit to 255 (This will give you plenty of margin if something goes wrong while setting up)
    7. Turn on the power to your motors – nothing should move at this stage!
    8. Set Kp to about 400
    9. Now slowly, increase PWMmax… at some point the motor should start to move. When it does check the “Green” feedback line is moving toward the “Blue” target position.
      • If it is then that motor and feedback is wired correctly - proceed to test other motors.
      • If it is moving away turn off motor power immediately (or quickly reduce PWMmax again). In this case you need to either reverse the wires to the motor being tested –OR– reverse the +5V and GND wires to your feedback pot for the motor being tested (do not do both). Restart the test from the beginning.
    10. Do the above for each motor

I have done everything you told me to do. I swapped the lines for motor 1 and motor 2 but the motors still don't work i have swapped the pentometers as well from 1 and 2 but it still doesn't work and he pentometers still get damaged. I checked h-bridge and its still working there is nothing wrong with it. Maybe the problem is with the way the pins are connected. I have connected the pins according to this image and i will attach it. Also the game i have download (live for speed) has no connection with simtools at all and also the motors.

As @Pit already advised before you can go further to SimTools SMC3 has to work properly.

If it is wired correctly and you are following the steps properly then it is likely faulty hardware, @Pit and others are better placed than me to give testing advice.

We had a bunch of users saying all is correctly wired or configured but at least it was not or the hardware was faulty. Could you please upload hq photos and screen shots to get a deeper look at it. BTW in your case beginning from scratch could help as well as a last chance.

Here are some pictures of my work and of SMC3. When i do the steps Noorbeast told me to do above the motors don't move or either just keep spinning constantly. I wanted to attach a video of it but the file size is too big.

I had a look at the SMC3 jpg, as long SMC3 is not working properly it makes no sense to go forward with SimTools. Also reduce Ki to zero for testing purposes.

PS: Fpid=9 is was too high

Pit i have made some adjustments and it seems to be working. After this what do i do. Do i test it with SimTools?
    Thank you for your help
