    Hello,

I'm looking for cheap racing harness to buy :)
do you have some links to share, please?

    Why a harness?
+ with a harness, you can feel all the simulator's movements
    - without a harness, you're simply doing rodeo on the seat and loosing the effects

+ with a harness, you can add immersion by tensionning the harness while braking!
and that's simple! you only have to add springs between plateform and belt like this:

    Why 5 points?
With only 4 points, the harness can go up and that's wrong.
With a tensionning system, the fifth point is mandatory

    Width?

As Nick Moxley said: rather go with 3" belts VS 2" Yes they are a few $$ more but are THAT much more comfortable in use.

    Examples:
principle: when the seat is push forward, the springs are pulling the harness and we can feel the braking forces

Interesting information, and I only disagree with one point
"without a harness, you're simply doing rodeo on the seat and loosing the effects"
Disagree from having my former hire sims, the seats served the purpose well and 3 REAL drivers felt the immersion just fine for a gaming machine.
    But otherwise interesting information

I bought mine used at ebay in a very good condition for about 10€. It's a huge difference playing with and without it.
Currently I'm using it without springs but will try this in the future.
    Thanks for sharing

what keywords did you use? as I don't find any (used or not) harness in Germany below 50€...

    Thanks!

I use a 4-point because of the nature of my sim...it really will toss you out if you are not strapped in. I too purchased mine cheap (5.00 USD I think it was) on EBAY.

Mine came from AliExpress, They were 89$ for a Pair of them, So me and Buddy john split a set. They offer All sorts of Color's, Brands and sizes you could imagine. I HIGHLY HIGHLY suggest going with 3" belts VS 2" Yes they are a few $$ more but are THAT much more comfortable in use.

Here are the top 4 cheapest links on Ali i could find, all around 50-55$ shipped(might vary for your country)

    @RacingMat Since I'm using a 4 point the keyword was " 4 Punkt Gurt"
I searched for "5 Punkt Gurt" but theere are really no used ones, only for child buggys :D Maybe I was lucky searching at the right day on Ebay.

But the Carpartslink you postet isn't actually 43€ for me it shows 28,50€.
(Edit: just seen article place is in Allemagne so it's the high shipping cost =( )

    Thanks guys!

yes, with 4points, you can scratch your back or open the door! ;)
but if you use a tensionning belt system, the 5th point is useful. If not 5th point, there will be not tension but harness will go up...

I agree with you about 3" width. I'll add this in the first post!
Thanks for the links but there are 4 points only.
And the shipping is express: i'm affraid to pay some taxes in this case...

Thanks! not lucky indeed... I'll wait a bit

You do NOT need the 5th point with tight belts. 4 is More than enough.

I dont understand your "belt go up" theory There's very little "pivot" on the lap belts so springs on them would be rather useless which is why i have them mounted to my Seat Frame itself and the shoulder belts to the Base.

exactly, shoulder belts connected to the base in order to pull the harness

if no 5th point, the harness doesn't go tensed but moves up

Lap belts on a racing seat pull your hips(butt) towards the rear of the seat and down, Proper tension on the lap belts will ensure the shoulder belts do not go "up" as your thinking.

Not to mention your Junk being crushed by the 5th belt

If low cost is the primary objective go for a 5 point baby seat harness for AU$6 on ebay - can't beat that! Plenty strong enough for a sim I would think:

    5pointharness.JPG

If you are concerned about comfort add another AU$9 and get a nice set of padded belt covers:

I choose the mario and luigi set :grin

Imo the 5th point is getting overkill, Ya its just one more buckle to do up, But i personally am glad i went with 4 point over 5 point.
