Is that yours? Are you managing forces there, or is it "full passive" like the other motorbike simulators listed here up to now?

In real life you have to lean "actibly" so its more real than getting movements by motors imho

Motors should be set to resist to the roll as a function of speed. Those "things" out there turning on their own are not sims but promotinal bullshit

Yes. most of them turn when people move the steering bar. That wheeeley guy has to really use his weight tu lean in order to turn

I know I am bit late on this thread but last night I thought of MotoGP sim and was wondering why not putting the bike floor a bit higher. Assuming the virtual road is ~70cm above the ground it would be easy to mount springs and a counterweight like a pendulum. Apart from that the hole thing could be mounted just like a regular 2DOF sim on a cardanjoint. With this setup even weak motors should get you back into position. Another approach would a combination of passive and active movement. If you add a "controller" with a gyroscope sensor to your body your angle could be submitted to the machine which acts like a servomotor then.

Cruden now have a VR motorcycle simulator which is rigged to also respond to body position and counter steering position:

Thought I would share here my last addon for my motion rig: motobike handlebar that plugs into the T300RS wheel (pedals plug).

Simple installation. I’m using GPBikes game, which is probably one of the most realistic motorbike games for now. Struggeling to make VR work with my Pimax headset... hope I’ll find a way.

Now it is 2021 and with the release of the latest MotoGP21 (not even sure if there is a plugin yet) has anyone bought this Moto sim into fruition as yet?

I am thinking of either building a new rig just for Moto or simply adding the handlebar/steering setup.

With the wheel/bar setup, Wouldn't it be just as simple to reverse the steering input so right input = lean left in sim?

Anyway, looking forward to digging further into this concept. I'm hoping @noorbeast will point me in the right direction.

    cheers

Thus far there is not a dedicated motion plugin for MotoGP21, the existing plugin is for MotoGP18 and I don't think it has been tried with 21.

One alternate possibility is to use the existing generic Joystick plugin: https://www.xsimulator.net/community/marketplace/joystick-plugin.127/

And extend the Joystick plugin functionality with vjoy: https://www.xsimulator.net/communit...otion-plugin-and-vjoy-controller-mapping.387/

Bike simulation is tricky, as body movement and sustained centrifugal forces play big roles, as does stability with speed, feedback through the frame and handlebars along with wind acting on the body, I don't think anyone has fully nailed it yet.

@noorbeast Thanks mate. I'm going to go with the handlebar over steering wheel setup initially (can be done for under $100 using E-scooter accelerators and brake levers. I'm just searching the pages for how to wire up these bits and pieces then use Vjoy, so if you know where I can find them that'd be great.

I will hunt down a motorbike frame for 2.0 and do some more research.
