Wiper motor 30% axis limit. feels it cant do small enough adjustments, smoothing fix?

    My Motion Simulator:
    2DOF, 3DOF, DC motor, Arduino
    Running wiper motors trough ardunio h bridge and smc. Im using about 30% of the axis. It feels very notchy when flying or testing and just isnt smooth, just stepper like. Is there any chance of a software fix for this or would i need to make a gearbox to use more of the axis but slowing the whole thing down even more?

    Its ok for car games but anything that needs smooth motion just dont really work
