    My Motion Simulator:
    4DOF
    ###################################################

    Simulator

    Commercial or DIY: DIY
DOF (Number of axles ): 1
Actuators (DIY, SCN5 etc.): Servo motor
Interface (Arduino, SCN, Mega, DIY etc. ): Arduino

    SimTools

    Version Number: 2.1 Demo
Game Plugin where the error is happening: Live for Speed
Settings (Relevant settings) As outlined in post below

    ###################################################

I would like to set up a small test to send Simtools motion data (just one axis for now) to Arduino Serial Monitor. At the moment I don't have any actuators coupled, I just wanted to get a few LEDs or small servo motor turning witht motion data from Simtools.

I have set up the Simtools Game Engine to write to COM16, 9600-8-N-1
I have also set up Arduino to listen to COM16, 9600-8- N-1

    Pic 1.png

I then run LFS, and I get data out on the virtual axis, as well as on the Tuning Centre

    Pic 2.png

I don't however see anything on the Arduino Serial Monitor. I must admit, I only ever programmed my first Arduino this past Saturday, so I might be having a problem there.

    What am I missing?

How should I configure Simtools, and Arduino to get just a simple 1 axis motion data to control a servo via Arduino? Any assistance would be highly appreciated.

Select an output rate and click save buddy.
Then try again and you should be golden!

    Hi Lodewijk

Have you solved this issue? I am trying to DIY a 2DOF seat and I meet with the same issue now.

    Thanks,
    Marvin

    @fourteenary,
The problem is in the first pic he posted.

You can see in the pic that the interface output has no 'Output Rate' selected.
And the save button is not enabled, meaning the settings are incomplete and have not been saved.

Basically, the problem here is there is no saved settings for the interface.
    Take care,

I got an advice in another thread, I will try that way to have the test.

    @Lebois,
The problem was the settings were never saved.
I can tell because if you look in the pics above, you can see there is not enough info in the interface section to enable the save button to use.
    Take care,

Saying you have a problem, without posting details, such as pictures of all of your settings, give members little to go on in terms of giving advice.

I posted all the details on my problem on a new thread here, but I didn't solve it...

Maybe you could have a look to it ? :)
