Hi Everyone, I am new to this forum and loving it! I am wondering if you guys have a recommendation which threads are good reads for actuator designs and necesities.

I am new to this and would like to build a linear actuator in the near future, to learn how to do that before building a motion sim.

The ultimate goal for me would be a 6DOF platform which could hold 2 people for a flight sim (me and my dad, father-son project ;)). So it would have to be quite strong, would that mean AC motors? Or is that also possible with DC motors as well?

There is a 6DOF section in the FAQs, which includes DIY actuators: https://www.xsimulator.net/community/faq/6dof.22/category

But there have also been some recent advances in DIY actuators, so I wouyld suggest using the Google search box on the Recent page and filter by date to get the most recent 6dof projects building DIY actuators.
