I recently purchased a commercial racing simulator and was provided with a predefined template for the hardware. It's setup correctly and works great after some tweaking. I do have a question about roll and sway. I understand based on the setup guide provided here that both of these need to be opposite of one another. I guess I kind of thought intuitively that when you make a right or left turn, the car rolls in the opposite direction of the turn. That makes sense and it's what I observe during everyday driving. I'm a bit confused about sway though. Does sway also act in the opposite direction of the turn? So sway and roll both act opposite to the direction of the turn. Is this correct?

Just as an example, for a 2DOF, in a right hand corner the sim will sway left, but lets say you clip the left hand curb then the rig will also roll right. So sway leans away from a corner and roll is set the opposite.

OK, ,so if you don't clip the left hand curb during the right turn, the sim will both sway and roll left?
