Hey anyone and everyone! My team is working with the live for speed game with the plugins from xsimulator and love it! We're looking at the project Cars plug in now, I wanted to know if this was the right area to talk about and ask some questions in?? Here are some of my questions..

Is the plug in for the real Project Cars game or just a knock off version?(just have tot be sure)

Are there any instructional guides that people would recommend that would help set it up properly with the game?

Thanks in advance for the help, we enjoy helping out and getting info from this forum!

@mgill4bu , as far as I know its the genuine version, but may work with a cracked version of the game.
What instructional guides do you want?
    For setting up the game?
    Is that general game settings?
    Or motion settings?

If you have links to any of those that may be up already I would appreciate any. Setting up for the game for sure if you have some info. I also I have an oculus DK2 we've been using for LFS but were trying to get it to work with pCars and running into some issues. Hopefully we'll figure it out soon. Thanks again for all the help!

I don't run PCars but have a lot of experience with the Rift. What sort of issues are you having and what runtime are you using?

The plugin thread links I posted earlier are a great place for additional support, as quite a few members use the Rift. You will also find motion setup tips there.

So I use a high end gaming laptop from MSI, turns out the runtime 7 doesn't work with laptops? correct me if im wrong. So im using runtime 5 which works with LFS in extend mode, but with pCars I set my rift screen to portrait and apparently pCars is suppose to detect my rift and auto load it on the rift. When I launch the game, it goes black on my monitor, the rift screen with blink then just show my desktop background. I can hear the game running though and if I move my mouse it makes the noises if on the home page of the game but I cant see anything.

Existing laptops do not have adequate graphics capability for high end VR, though there is a new breed that incorporate the Nvidia GTX 980 cards: http://www.pcworld.com/article/2984...ormance-in-a-laptop-with-geforce-gtx-980.html

LFS is an old game with very moderate graphic overhead needs. Even if you turned off all effects in PCars and managed to get it to run in VR on a laptop it would likely not be a great experience. What are the specs of your laptop? Oculus recommends:

NVIDIA GTX 970 / AMD 290 equivalent or greater
    Intel i5-4590 equivalent or greater
    8GB+ RAM
    Compatible HDMI 1.3 video output
    2x USB 3.0 ports
    Windows 7 SP1 or newer

Also I can run a matrix display with my geforce.. I just fee like it couls run the game. I found other forums on Oculus that said even a 560m could run some higher processing games

Could someone also clear this up for me.. We're looking at getting some of the plugins from this site but confused with purchasing a week package. If you run out of coins after you purchase a week, will it charge again or would it just stop? Sorry if my question isn't entirely clear.

After purchasing the weeks access if you run out of coins during that period you will end up with a negative coin balance but will not be prevented from downloading plugins, see the FAQs for further detail on coins.

you are supposed to contribute in some way to the forum, either by starting a new thread with your planned sim build and outlining it and or asking and commenting properly on threads of interest. That gives you coins.
But be careful, doing the 2nd option too much may be considered spamming and will get you booted off the forum.
Failing that, ask me for some coins if need....
