    Hello chaps

Got a bit of an odd issue. I got some brand new wiper motors that runs fine but when i turn them off and back on a few hours later i get no reaction. When i pry it a bit back and forth and such when the power is on i can bring it back to life. The first one just died on me but the second i've been able to use all day but with this issue and i dont think it will last. Any idea why this might be? It can be driven just fine when its off so its not getting stuck. Its quite odd.

i suspect the motor driver is overheating and the motor then goes out of limit and is disabled

when you move the motor it goes back into the correct limits and starts up again

Thanks for the reply but neither is the issue. Remember this is after starting up after hours and by wiggle I mean 1 2mm and it don't just start right up again. It's also getting power and does not react to direct power either.

They are G isolated. Settings/hw are not needed as it does not react to direct 12v power but using sabertooth 2x32 smc3. Max spike amp 14 temps 60c but happens at 35c and letting it sit too

Tested now did not work. Wiggled the shaft and it started moving. Suspect a brush issue. Only thing I can think of but I couldn't bring the previous motor back to life yesterday doing the same thing

If a motor won't run on direct 12v then it is time to pull it apart to see why, brushes or windings most likely.

May be the brushes that have gotten stuck. Best guess is that they dont like the heat and fail

Been looking at it some more and the ground brush was completely seized and the low speed one was stuck too. I know metal expands and contracts a bit but this shouldnt happen to the brushes? Im going to file them down a hair on the side and see how that works. Ive had no such issues with my other motors even when smoking hot due to a stuck motor.
