Resolved M$ seeing SimTools 2.2 .EXE as FALSE Trojan:Win32/Bitrep.A

    G'day,

    Windows 10 defender is reporting all my SimTools_2.2.zip and exe files as being infected with Trojan:Win32/Bitrep.A? Previous versions okay.

    Had not fired up Simtools for over a week until now.

    Reports straight after new download too.

    Thanks noorbeast. Are they labelling everything now that has a networking.dll as a trojan? M$ is really going down hill.

    EDIT:

    Finally got Windows 10 Defender to allow the SimTool_2.2.zip.

    Rather than whitelisting the specific false positive .exe and .zip, they whitelist the virus signature?????????

    SimTools is being submitted for review to MS tonight.
    I got Kaspersky clearance last night and anyone using that antivirus should now not have any problems.

    From Kaspersky:

    SimTools v2.2 has passed the Windows Defender review!
    The next update for Windows Defender should fix the problem.
    If anyone knows of other antiviruses i should submit SimTools v2.2 too also, please let me know.

    Glad you were able to get this sorted with Microsoft. Yesterday, Windows 10 started removing the Game Engine every time I installed it. I turned off all Windows Defender options, and was able to install and run it, but this morning, Windows Defender had turned itself back on and removed Game Engine again.

    Hi @yobuddy, I am having the same issue with the latest version of gamedash for a couple of days now. It worked fine and then suddenly Windows defender started detecting Zpevdo.A trojan in it.

    Shall I just white-list it?
