Is there a workaround to this? I added Simtools on my Kaspersky exclusion list but every few days or so, Kaspersky decides to delete SimTools. This was never an issue before until the last few weeks and is quickly becoming a pain. Of course turning my antivirus off will be a solution, but that would leave me vulnerable to attacks.

I suggest reporting it to the Kaspersky devs and use a different security program until they resolve it.

    @leontoh,
I believe this is a 'adaptive learning' problem in some new antivirus versions.
We contacted MacAfee about the same problem, the solution was to remove their AV and reinstall it. lol
Yea, that's what they told us, and it even worked.

AVG now has started auto submitting files that "may be bad".
I was in the middle of working on my Video Ride Recorder and AVG auto submitted a copy for review. lol
2 days later i got a popup telling me the file is 100% safe. lol (like i didn't know that hehe)

Anyway, I believe that this problem will pass as the SimTools library of apps becomes failure to all antiviruses.
    Take care,
    yobuddy

Thank you noorbeast and yobuddy for your replies.

yobuddy, what do you mean by 'SimTools library of apps becomes failure to all antiviruses' ?

Perhaps I will try reinstalling Kaspersky and see if that does the trick. Will report back once I get the chance to. Thanks for the help again

Well the antiviruses probably don't recognize allot of exe's yet, as it is building its database of 'good' vs 'evil' apps.
Over time, files will get cleared by each antivirus and things should settle down as they get marked as harmless.
    Take care,
    yobuddy

FI, from today - Windows Defender (Windows 10) is doing the same thing....what a pain .... Simtools GameEngine will only work with Virus/threat protection off.

    thx @SeatTime
I would suggest people install AVG free or Avast free and be done with the problem.
Windows Defender is like a paper sign saying "bad guys go away" vs a real antivirus. lol

    Hmm...
I can't find anywhere to submit SimTools for review with Windows Defender.
Anyone know where to do so?

I got official Kaspersky clearance last night, anyone using that antivirus should now not have any problems.

    From Kaspersky:
    "Hello,
Sorry, it was a false detection. It will be fixed.
    Thank you for your help.
    Sincerely yours,
Igor Loshchakov, Malware Analyst, Kaspersky Lab"

I will submit the same file to Microsoft tonight, hopefully they are just as fast.
    Take care,

Just a quick update, SimTools v2.2 passed Windows Defender clearance.
    (just a false positive)
This problem should be over shortly for that antivirus also.
