    Hello Guys,

today I like to explain to you how the licensing system and the cooperation between xsimulator.net and simtools.us are working in detail. I hope it will answer all your questions why and how we sectioned both projects into different parts:

    • The first part of the motion simulation ecosystem is the website XSimulator.net which is responsible for all aspects of doing community work and marketing like increasing the range and traffic of the community and the online visibility for topics like motion simulator hardware, software and DIY construction documentary.

The staff on XSimulator.net which includes me also maintain and run the website and the forum download section where you can download all the latest plugins and the SimTools DIY version. The staff is also responsible for moderating the user generating content to make sure that every post and article complies to our and legal terms.

For downloading plugins you need coins which you earn for forum activity or you can buy one of the download packages. Every money that is earned on xsimulator.net is invested in technical maintenance and improvement of the website and in marketing efforts to make the project more popular.

    • The second and same important part is the website simtools.us which is run and operated by our long trusted and very good friend and member Dustin aka @yobuddy. He is responsible for the development of the complex motion simulator software SimTools which can be downloaded on simtools.us as well as on xsimulator.net.

For using SimTools you need a valid license key which you can only purchase on simtools.us or if you are qualified you can request for a free DIY key*

The income which is generated on simtools.us goes completely to @yobuddy to keep the development of SimTools alive and to compensate the countless hours of work he did and will do in future. This includes bug fixing, creating new functions and other improvements of SimTools. Purchasing a license key ensures that SimTools will evolve in the future.

So, please before trying to get immediately a free DIY license key, ask yourself if you just want to be part of the community or if you also want to support the work of Dustin financially. Your participation in our community is much appreciated and welcome but only financial support makes sure that SimTools will evolve in the future:cheers It also increase the chances that Dustin can work some time full time on SimTools and that more resources are available to realize your feature requests.

I hope this post is answering all of your questions. Beside of that, I would be really happy if you like to support xsimulator.net with buying a download package and purchasing a SimTools license.

If you have something to add or to change you can reach me @RaceRay or @yobuddy by opening a conversation or connect with me directly.

The planned transducer, cinema recording/motion and Game Dash enhancements alone are worth the Pro upgrade, let alone the significant improvements to SimTools performance and functionality.

The DIY offer is there as @yobuddy is committed to the community, lets hope the majority of the community are equally committed to the ongoing development and enhancement of SimTools and chip in financially via the Pro License upgrade.

This thread has made things much clearer for me and I will indeed be supporting Xsimulator and SimTools as I progress with my own build. Until now I had not discerned the difference and assumed it was one and the same.
Can I suggest that @RaceRay expand slightly on the paragraph in which he mentions the Xsimulator.net download package. I purchased the gold contributers package because it got rid of adverts which appeared between posts. Yes, I could have used an Ad-blocker but I also wanted to contribute something back. ;)

Once I start my actual build I was going to apply for a free DIY license since I felt that I had already contributed. But now I understand that Xsimulator and SimTools are two separate entities I will happily pay for the SimTools license.

I stumbled on this thread by chance and feel it should be given more emphasis as it really does help to make new users aware of how their contributions can help to further improve SimTools and the Xsimulator community.

Keep up the good works guys! :thumbs

Hi Raceday, thanks for the info.

So do we need to purchase 2 things?

    1 being the licence
and 2 being the support package?

    regards Jerry

You can purchase both if you want, but for eligible DIY projects you can also get a free copy of SimTools: https://www.xsimulator.net/community/faq/request-a-free-diy-simtools-2-0-license.262/

You can also earn coins to access plugins via forum activity and contributions: https://www.xsimulator.net/community/faq/coins-and-how-to-download-plugins.2/

Please be aware that you can dual language post but it is part of the Forum Rules that you also include English, doing so via Google Translate is fine: https://www.xsimulator.net/community/threads/forum-rules.9527/

I have done that for you @pinthi:

Google Translate - Hello, I made a first purchase How do i pay the license for with the key in order to make simtools 2.
