I don't know for JRK but Arduino built in ADC (analog to digital converter on Analogic pins) is optimized for 10k ohm :)

You can use Hall sensors as a drop in replacement of pots and mounting them is simple as you don't need to gear them.

I have used these 180 Hall sensors, Element 14 has worldwide distribution: au.element14.com/bi-technologies-tt-electronics/6127v1a180l-5fs/sensor-hall-0-2v-20v-to-10v-pin/dp/2319662

Thanks for the information, but one more question I have
Need hall sensors a magnet on the shaft, or can i built them nearly to the shaft and it works?

    Hello,
Interesting mechanical angle and electrical angle 360 °.
Mine are mechanically 360 ° but 340 ° electrical angle, so with a dead zone of 20 °
Your potentiometers with the mechanical angle and electrical angle 360 ° were they an operating shaft 6mm and 6.35mm?

    Bonjour,

    Hello,
I just found the answer by reading the datasheet for a pin 6mm I need the model 6124

    Bonjour,
Je viens de trouver la réponse en lisant le datasheet, pour un axe de 6mm il me faut le modèle 6124

FYI: I bought that Hall effect potentiometer 3 years ago and today I had one disintegrate on my hands while cleaning! i guess the housing is plastic and with time they come apart easy

Im still on my Original set in which were LOCKED up twice (due to too Rigid of Pot mount) and required BIG BIG pliers to free up.

They are FAR from Fragile if you ask me.

A question, about, these Hall potentiometers:
how can I put the value in the middle when I will mount the potentiometer on the motor axe?

    Thanks in advance

Apply 5v from Arduino or other source. Use volt meter and twist pot until output reads 2.5v.

Hi, I recently bought these hall effect gyro sensors to replace my old Bourns 5 ohm potentiometers.

    https://www.ebay.es/itm/Hall-angle-...rand=Unbranded&_trksid=p2047675.c100012.m1985

And now that I want to change them, a question arises: I know that I can change the polarity of the bourns, that is, I can invest as appropriate between vcc and gnd so that it goes hand in hand with its motor. But I don't know if I can do the same with these new sensors.
I hope I have explained myself well.

Sorry, I answer myself: can´t reverse vcc and gnd on hall sensor.
    I just found the answer:blush.

Hello gents ........Barry said his using Bourne 6639S-1-502 which are 5kOHM..... yet RacingMat said - 10 kOhm (not less, not more). Unfortunately in South Africa the only ones available are the Bourne 6639S-1-502 otherwise wait till December. Are the Bourne 6639S-1-502 otherwise fine..... Oh i use JRE not Arduino?
Just found this right next the 5kOHM one ......
Bourns 1 Gang Continuous Turn Rotary Conductive Plastic Potentiometer with a 6.35 mm Dia. Shaft, 10kΩ, ±15%, 1W, Linear
