Doing some research before getting in too deep is time very well spent.

Please read the Community etiquette: https://www.xsimulator.net/community/faq/community-etiquette.82/

There is the expectation that members "be respectful and first search the FAQ section and forum before asking a question".

So if you are just starting out you will find plenty of helpful information in the FAQs to get you on your way.

The FAQs are broken down into specific areas. If you are just starting out then make sure you check out the Fundamentals of motion, the Design , Build and SimTools sections. Make sure you download and actually read the SimTools Manual.

The FAQs will also help you avoid wasting time with common traps. The Live for Speed plugin is bundled with the demo version of SimTools, for testing purposes, but must be run before patching it for motion.

To quickly find stuff use the Enhanced by Google Search on the Recent page, then refine results by date or relevance: https://www.xsimulator.net/community/faq/how-to-find-stuff.399/

If you use cheap clone Motor Monster control boards then test them before use, as often they are faulty.

When using code with Arduinos then carefully read all of the instructions on how to configure that code and how to set the SimTools Interface Settings for that code.

In particular be aware that SimTools 2 Interface Settings has designate grouping for a or b for each axis assignment, like this <Axis1a><Axis2a>

Do read the SimTools Manual and Tips for Refining Motion Profiles before creating your first motion profile.

If something sounds odd then look it up in the Glossary.

And if you have ideas and suggestions to make things easier for new members then Please Help Us Improve the FAQs.
