Hi guys, can you confirm that this .xml (see below) is the correct one to use. Its the one from the plugin I downloaded (3.1.3). I have upgraded to the latest Simtools. Reinstalled the joystick plugin and set up all my working settings again in game engine. Joystick working well with 6dof in joystick mode (to check all is working again with latest Simtools). Then, I killed gamemanager and engine and did a plugin updater to install the downloaded ED plugin. Before patching I flew for a bit in ED. Then did the patching in game manager. I checked the xml in appdata and it was not the same as in the downloaded plugin (as noted by others here). I Deleted that xml and copied the one from the plugin (posted below) into the same location to replace it. Restarted the game and noticed I immediately get heave and sway on max in one direction and no data from any of my hotas inputs. Its as though its reading the wrong data and giving no game data other than heave and sway locking on max by themselves and staying there regardless of hotas inputs. Just don't get what might be up - I've always had no probs at all with all the previous plugins over last 2 yrs+. I'm at a loss what to try and do next so any help welcome

One other query - when you update or patch the ED plugin, is is supposed to place all the plugin files into the Simtools folder in Program Files (x86)? (I'm sure it did in the past but it didn't this time - I even added them myself manually to see if this was the prob. No change tho.

damn - I guess its joystick mode for me then. Just tried a re-install and patch inclu. swapping the xml and I get the same result. Can't figure it. Simtools sees the plugin, I'm running the same xml in app data as you guys but I get heave and sway max out only and zero hotas control. It should work! (work damn you!)

Craig - would your latest xml work with the last ED plugin (from April) and was the latest plugin for VR (I have VR)

As for me, the updated plugin work like a charm !
@SilentChill : I am curious to know how the plugin works, as soon as I am docked (and while I am docked), there is no motion at all, hence, loosing the little vibrations when the ship is detached...

Second question : If you scan for a "docked state", how hard would it be to scan for an "in srv state", and switch to another list of pointers ?

Anyway, thank you sooo much for providing us the new pointers.

I did have SRV working once but only roll and pitch i think, i cant remember. Its just down to time , its not hard to make a flag for the plugin to know when to look at a different pointer. Its finding that other pointer thats the problem as the SRV has totally different values to the spaceship

What do you mean by "Zero Hotas control" ??

edit: I cant remember how the joystick plugin works but that needs to be disabled or whatever as it may clash with the plugin ?? i dunno just thinking out loud

Sorry -I worded it badly - was a long day. I meant that when ED starts up I can control the game ok with hotas but Simtools is not seeing this so no motion other than heave and sway moving by themselves to max (positive) direction and staying there. All indications of the wrong memory/pointers but you stated the xml is correct and that is the only xml in my appdata. I thought the problem may lie with the way I installed the plugin maybe.
I use the joystick plugin and that is fine. In simtools its an either/or with joystick or ED plugin so there would be no conflict. Just cant figure why it wont work unless Ive overlooked something (cant think what tho)

Hey guys first off thanks very much for taking the time to make this plugin work again but unfortunately I can't get it to work.

I downloaded the updated ed plugin and used plugin updater to update it then launched sintools again as administrator to try and repatch to see if it worked then but nothing, no motion.
Works fine in other games and output testing etc.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks again
    Ben

Oh hi Kev, looks like it's not just me that having trouble with the plugin - I to normally use the joystick plugin but as you can imagine VERY excited to experience ed with proper telemetry data.

It's a shame the joystick plugin won't work with my throttle as well as joystick (t16000) so that I can incorporate surge as well for the the ship accelerates.
Did you manage to do that?

Hi. Yes - I have CH products throttle, stick and foot pedals. With CH you can combine into single 'joystick' driver which simtools joystick plugin can read, so I have all 6 DOF covered in joystick mode - works really well. Precise and tuned for ED.

I've used ED plugin many times before in 2DOF and 3DOF chairs but never in 6DOF (only finished the 6dof rig a few weeks back). Was really looking forward to it. I do a lot of cqc and the collisions and crashes and explosive hits are spectacular motion with motion data, so too is autodocking and multicrew in main game - this is what I miss and really wanted to exp in 6DOF. Guess I'll have to sit this one out - everything checks out here but just not getting the correct gamedata showing in simtools.

Ok so I tried this with the thrust master target software which worked somewhat... For example - when I made the throttle take the same axis as the joystick pitch up and down so when I accelerate seat pitches up ect only thing is that I lose the ability to actually use the throttle axis in game as it is now set to pitch and not throttle..
So no good. Shame. Guess I'll just be happy with joystick pitch and roll for now :)

I couldn't get it to work.... so I found my own pointers and now it's fine. If I can find a spare 10 minutes I might post a video how to do it...

I wanted to shoot a video of me playing ED in my new sim and this seemed to be the only way....

I'm sure more people would help if they had a video like this.
If we had more people to find game pointers, a lot more of these types of game plugins could be maintained and built.
So should you find time, the community would really appreciate it!

Either way thou, it's really cool to see someone using the new offset file to update the plugin!
    Nice work buddy!
    Take care,
    yobuddy

@traveltrousers - Great work on the xml data.
I overwrote the xml in my appdata with your data and wayhay - I got moves!. Had a fly about in the ED demo combat last night and all is as it should be. Gonna have a fly about in the main game shortly to test my sim out (I only built it for ED - so you can guess I'm a happy guy right now). Btw - I checked your sim out - impressive! thats some moves it got.
I'd happily give you all my Coins if you did a vid showing the process of searching down the 6dof data (what, how, where, etc) - then we could all contribute. I really hope you can find the time to do it.

You say the motion wont work for Arena. I hope you can get that going - I play it a lot.
    Thanks again dude, much appreciated
