    Hello Everyone!

I have been lurking here for too long and decided to take the plunge.

My 4 place bearhawk project has gone to the hangar and have some space now and as the bearhawk nears completion I need to get my flying skills upto speed so I can fly it. Been trying my hand at the X-plane for sometime now but a 6DOF will make progress much faster as flying needs more muscle learning than just the mind, hence this project.

Thanks everyone for sharing their project, have learnt so much and hoping to get mine built as well.

Just placed an order for the ball screw to start putting together the actuator:

look here these ballscrews are much less expensive. ballscrew
also I suggest the f series bearings for actuators they are a little more compact. fk/ff12 bearing

    Came across this on ebay:

    https://www.ebay.com/itm/182310798843

This is a 100A continuous and 200A peak driver, but for a single motor. Comparing with the sabertooth 2X60A driver.

Price for two comes to almost the same as that of the sabertooth, till I saw a PCB verion for $15

    https://www.ebay.com/itm/173332280882

That looks interesting, more opportunities to tinker :)

Trying to figure out what kind of coupling to use for the Ampflow E30-150 motor and the 1605 ball screw:

Fk 12 is what you need. Ff is end bearing. I paid 18 each for couplers. So your doin good there.

My actuators are here at the end of my build if your interested they use your motor and are similar to @wannabeaflyer2 design.

    Servo is moving!!
    Servo connected to simtools!!

But could only manage to connect one servo, the second one refuses to budge, trying to figure out what the issue could be.

Trying to figure out the maximum angle of deflection required at the base of the actuator. Having a hard time getting the hinge at the base to swing as much as 45 degrees like how Hoddem did.
