    hello
my project is progressing slowly and i thought it was time to install smc3 on the arduino while waiting to receive the ibt-2 power cards. i can't install despite having followed this video tutorial

The only difference is that I wrote #define mode 2 instead of mode 1 as read here for ibt-2

Is the Arduino IDE configured in its settings for your Uno and correct port?

Do you get any error messages and if so what are they?

Hi thank you for your help.

I used the latest version (for all Arduino).

I followed the port procedure (modified to 5 for me).

I repost the error message IMG_20220514_205559.jpg

I'm at work right now,I'm starting again as soon as possible, in the video it goes very fast and downloads all the versions I certainly missed something...

There is the actual SMC3 guide: https://www.xsimulator.net/communit...3dof-motor-driver-and-windows-utilities.4957/

And possible alternate video guides: https://www.xsimulator.net/community/threads/new-video-on-explaining-what-i-know-about-smc3.17092/

Likely further context about what you have, or have not done, is needed to figure out what went wrong for you, given how many members successfully use SMC3.

    Hi.

Today I received my itb-2 and I was able to play with smc3...

I do not yet understand the different settings but it works and nothing has caught fire....

    Hi!
    I started playing a bit with smc3
The engine and the ibt-2 seem fast on off like Square or other fast movement..

On the other hand sine and triangle seem jerky and I have not found a setting that prevents this for the moment

    Here is the test 12v

hello here is the progress of the project.
the gimbal is fixed in the center of a circle of 30cm radius, the middle of the crank arms is at 45 degrees at 30cm from the gimbal.
the cranks are 6cm, the height of the gimbal and connecting rods IS adjustable for modeling.

    hello

I continue the chassis and as I already have the "playseat" I thought of using it.

after some diagrams either put the seat in the same place and I modify the fixings of the pedals and the steering wheel..
or I use it like that with the seat higher.

I started in this direction but I don't know if I'm doing it right... your opinion interests me

    If the Seat down

    received_400632895281518.jpeg

in this case should lower the pedal and the direction, I wonder if it is not preferable the gimbal already increasing the height..

    hi thanks for the link.
that's what i thought after i started welding...
It will be more work but i could put each element exactly where it is in my car and certainly make it stiffer.

regarding my try motors (without load)
I noticed that fpwm did not seem to change the operation, that pwmmax give more power and pwmmin give shaky reactions very quickly (10 is ok) for pwmrev I'm afraid that it damages the mechanics once in load.

concerning the PID I think it would take a load to start adjusting if you have seen the video I am interested in your opinion I find them very reactive on sudden movements and a little hesitant on sine triangle maybe is normal?

    hello

I started to modify the playseat
I took the opportunity to measure where everything is placed on my car...

I would like to keep the seat fixed and be able to adjust only the pedal and the steering wheel

the steering wheel has been lowered by cutting and resoldering the tube (-14cm)

for the pedals the dimension is still original (too high must be lowered by -18cm).

I will take this opportunity to increase the angle of inclination of the des pedals which is original by only 5 degrees.

    hello

while waiting to be able to continue my chassis.
I searched the forum for as much information as possible about scm3 and it's setting.
I've already read the tutorial but I haven't found an answer to this yet:

-the frequency setting should be as high as possible ? (relative to rpm)

-pwmmax is somehow the maximum power/speed/torque, should you leave it fully and take advantage of the newton/amperage/rpm (I see it regularly adjusted by half) is not limited the potential of the engine?

-why brake the motor in reverse rather than using a very hard end-of-travel stop spring or other mechanical means if the goal is only not to exceed the setpoint?

    - is it useful to want to adjust something without having finished the chassis?

-do you use all the settings at the same time smc3 and simtool or one set after the other?

As per the guide SMC3 interface setup for Simtools 2 is very straight forward:

    Interface Type - Serial

ComPort = the Arduino ComPort, you can find it in Windows Device Manager.

    BitsPerSec - 500000

    Data Bits - 8

    Parity - None

    Stop Bit -1

    Output Bit Range - 10

    Output Type - Binary

    Interface Output - [A<Axis1a>][B<Axis2a>][C<Axis3a>]

You may also find @Halloween2go's video guide helpful, if you want to see as well as read SMC3 setup instructions: https://www.xsimulator.net/communit...-with-wiper-motors-arduino-ibt2-and-smc3.391/

    Thank you very much
unfortunately I have already read this information and it did not answer my questions.
I may be wondering too much I will try to understand by testing...

    Hi

I wonder if my project can be eligible for the simtool diy license once finished.
the basic inspiration was the H3 but it will not be a model because many things will be different (which I consider to be anti-mechanical).

I read that the thread had to be unique...should I remove all the uninteresting content like "help I can't install scm3" or start a new discussion on its own by going back to the very beginning by detailing each step for example, how to dismantle and transform a 1-axis motor on one side only into a through axle, etc... without unnecessary things?
