Hi guys, i have been reading on heaps of build threads, some very impressive builds out there for sure.

I have finally commenced my very own motion sim build, it will be primarily VR but also with a 42" tv screen for long airliner flights.

Being in aviation industry myself, it was fitting to use aluminium for construction.

Heres my part list so far :
    Motors : 250W 24V wheelchair (TBC)
    Hall Sensors : 6127V1A360L.5FS
Power Supplies : DIGISHUO DC 24V 20A 480W Power Supply (Amazon)
    Driver : Cytron MD20A OR IBT2 ? (TBC)

Chasing advice on driver choice, please feel free to suggest which one is more suitable for my project.

Will update as i continue the build.

    Nice fabrication work :thumbs

For the Hall sensors 180s will give you better resolution, while still retaining a bit of headroom, so 6127V1A180L.5FS.

Be mindful that many members have reported quality control issues with IBTs, it seems reducing the voltage a little helps, but you may want to consider more robust options.

Thanks @noorbeast for the prompt response. Very kind of you.
Unfortunately I have already ordered 360 Hall sensors, would it be possible to still use these, say with a reduction drive GT2 belt and gears ?
    i might stick to 20A (MD20A) then.
Still bit of fabrication to do.
does simcalc work on mac or is it for windows only?

Just to confirm, this driver should be ok before i place the order? i thought of going with 20A instead of 13A to ensure some redundancy.
Will also order the Arduino R3 this afternoon.

The 360 degree Hall sensors will work fine, even direct drive, you just loose a little resolution. I don't think the additional complication of gearing is worth the effort or associated cost.

SimCalc is Windows only, as are a range of the other programs required, like the SMC3 setup tool and SimTools itself.

Choose the controller model that has supporting code available, not variations of them.

Thanks mate, I will need to read up more on the controllers i think, im good at mechanical and syructural stuff but unfortunatwly ot much on electronics.

Is there much to lose running 360 vs 180 hall sensor? Ive found that i might be able to return it but if there isnt much difference then i might keep it.

Made bit more progress on the frame, hopefully finish it by the end od this week, then start the base.
