Hi guys and gals. What a great forum! Love seeing people's creativity and knowledge on this subject.

As of now I have a Playstation 5 and LOVE Gran Turismo 7. I have a static sim rig and use the Fanatec GT DD Pro wheel and pedals with boost kit. I'd love to build a simple motion sim to yaw left to right with steering wheel input and move forward and back based on throttle and brake inputs. Is there any possible way to use hall sensor based on steering/brake/gas pedal input to allow my static sim to move? Here is the pic of my setup...

Do you think it's a waste of time to use my existing sim and attempt a motion sim? And is there any decent telemetry software for PS5 to communicate with the motors/actuators?

    Thanks in advance - Jordan

I was thinking the same thing. I have an open wheeler sim rig and was thinking of converting it to a 2dof. I’m surprised I haven’t seen anyone do this with a stationary rig. It’s probably for a good reason. Weight maybe? Either way I hope someone who knows can help us out here.

Many do convert static rigs, weight can be a factor, so can design aspects depending on the existing configuration of the static rig.

As an aside, there is now a dedicated Gran Turismo 7 plugin: https://www.xsimulator.net/community/threads/gran-turismo-7-ps4-5.17478/

Well this is great news. I believe what weighs most on my open wheeler is my seat. Perhaps a lightweight bucket seat would be a good start. Also I plan to use some wheelchair motors. Again that’s good to know so huge thanks.
Also gt7 is all I play (no pc) so big thanks for this info.

Wheelchair motors would likely be a good choice for a static rig conversion, though the rest of the design also needs to be considered.
