    As far as aluminum extrusions go, I see Tnutz.com lists both lite and non-lite extrusions. Would the lite extrusions work ok? Thanks.

    I can't say, as I did not use aluminum extrusion products, but rather came up with a way to utilise common aluminum square tube and right angled aluminum stock to create a cost effective, light but rigid compact frame.

    If you use 3 motors and 1 cardan shaft in the middle, this will limit the "heave" shaft up and down. 3 motors will not go up and down at the same time

    At 28 pages and a number of links, that was some read. I came across this forum a few days ago as I am keen to build a sim. I have some other builds to read, and then probably let all the ideas marinate for a bit. I do have half an idea, but there is always more reading to be done.

    Anyways, I just wanted to say "well done" on a great build.

    -1 more question please explain
    In the game assetto corsa competizione when I step on the clutch and release the clutch into 1st gear, the car runs. From 2nd to 6th there is no need to step on the clutch. why is that? I use paddle logitech g29.
    -I love watching "international gt3" because of the language problem, so I don't understand the racing rules, please explain the unrelated question

    Can you tell me how many kg you can adjust the heave assist? Ithink it have to be for the motors power because if it is to strong, even when the movement is down it will be much heavier to move as if it balanced, to assist and to resist right?

    And how can I calculate how much kg the wheelchair motor, Iam using can handle and how many to assist?

    is there any similar to your seat spring , maybe a car spring damper? I am searching for solutions.

    The most imported information for me ist the kg for example to 30 - 50 kg of your spring seat assist

    I have used my rig for children to big guy users:


    I used the original DX office chair tilt mechanism, you should be able to find specs and alternatives by searching for heavy duty tilt mechanisms for office chairs.

    At minimum settings if I drop the back motor arm off, which is the proper way to set it, I can basically rock the seat back and forward with one finger:


    If I crank the settings all the way up I can sit in it and it won't move (86kg + seat).

    The way I set mine for different users is that it should be adjusted to have a slight give in travel whatever the weight of the user, with the rear arm detached, and react much like a smooth seesaw to them bouncing their weight, then reattach the rear arm.

    Hey Noorbeast,

    I’ve been following this thread and changed my 50:1 gearbox with the 60:1 from motion dynamics. Had to replace it due to plastic gears on the 50:1 that broke. I have a 12v 180 watt motor running on the JRK G2 18v19. I didn’t have a problem moving the old gearbox but now I can’t seem to move the 60:1 when I add extra load to it. It moves fine when I’m sitting on the rig but once I apply extra pressure like hitting the brakes, it gives me motor running at max duty cycle. Any ideas? I’ve tried all the settings on the Pololu utility SW but no luck.

    Plastik gears? Omg..... In one of my used gearboxes the metal gears was already shredded.... ..... So I ordered a spare one. But for now I Rotate the defective one 180degree so it uses only the good side of the gear.... Works well so far. I think this was worn out by the preowner.

    Hi Noorbeast, this thread has been a amazing source of information. About to pull the pin and change from the 25:1 gearboxes to 60:1 with the 200w MD motors. Just wondering where you got your couplings with set screws from and if they were 20mm ID?

    That was many many years ago, so I can't recall the supplier, but they must be the correct size for the shaft size of the pot, in my case the Hall sensor had a 1/4" shaft and I used a 8mm bolt tapped to the shaft, so was 8mm that end.
