I was lurking for almost two years, watching different threads and waiting for the day I had learned enough to give it a shot and build one by myself. Now I've already learned that there is a lot more to learn ;)

First thing: big thanks to @pmvcda for his detailed plans and schematics, which make it possible for me to build one.

The board is at least working for one actuator.. The connectors for actuator 2 and 3 are still untested

The printer is pumping out parts

    Some of them are modified
    IMG_20200131_191144.jpg

A ballscrew already shot out the actuator
    IMG_20200129_194742.jpg

    But it is getting somewhere

    More coming soon...

Excellent work there. Where did you get the board made up? Was going to mill out one here but can only do single sided

The board is from jlcpcb. They also have an online editor and because it was my first ordner, actually the first time ever creating a pcb, I did pay around 2€ for 5 PCBs including shipping. The shipping took almost 3 weeks. But worth the wait. Quality seems fine.

Very nice thanks, i'll have a look at it. Did you resolve your actuator issues?

Just moving this over so we don't need to spam pmvcdas thread ;)

    Nope :(

@pmvcda : I didn't see any problem with the switch but replaced it anyway. So that should be ruled out. Level shifters and ESP are the next one to rule out. Going to put the second board together and see if it has the same issue.

oookay... I just noticed Something after playing around and powering the ESP from a Powerbank. It didn't do it once if powered only.
And connecting to the PCs USB... started again to happen.
But if you look closely in the blurry beginning of the video, the esp blinks 3 times! and after that 5 times. If that happens, Mover software is not able to connect and everything is going south. Somewhat my Computer seems to interrupt the boot sequence and after that the esp is a little bit confused.

I had a problem with a cheap USB cable. It was damaged and caused some strange issues similar to this.
Also, can you try another port in the pc or another pc?

    Holy s....
It's freakin Cura 4.1.0 (creawsome mod)

As soon as I open it, the actuator goes nuts

I had it open most of the time to slice the few ;) parts for the actuators....

Would be amazing if someone could verify it, but I was able to reproduce it as soon as cura is running in the background

    What is flypt ?

Is it a dc motordriver with software ?

How many actuators can it drive ?

Parts for the electronics are all there... Let's see if all the metal parts for the actuators arrive before the weekend.

Hows the project progressing? Looking forward to seeing the first FlyPT clone simulator. I'm working on a very similar one just with enclosed actuators to try and deaden the ballscrew noise a bit.

Im still waiting for a bunch of parts... Including the last few ballscrews :(
I think it takes about 60 more hours of printing to get the last parts done.

I am also playing around with some enclosures to get the noise down.

A little bit over 3 kg filament and days of print time and all the parts are finally done. I'm amazed how good Amazon basics petg filament is as I printed all the parts without any failed prints. I maybe reprint the orange parts in blue if it's going to bother me. The ballscrews and missing parts are finally in my region and should be delivered tomorrow. :)
