    Hi,
I am really satisfied with my build, see https://www.xsimulator.net/community/threads/2dof-for-existing-diy-playseat.11827/page-2#post-176347
Makes a lot of fun !

I am using the pgsaw motors (1:25) and carrying a 100kg person - not me ;-) - seems to be no problem.
But the motor shaft has some lash. See a video here:

Is this normal for such motors ?
Is there any chance to improve it ?

    cheers,
    Arazok

All wormgears have backlash some more than others

I have the same problem with my setup. I fixed it by using bungee cords to keep pressure on the levers at all times in order to keep them on one side of the backlash.

You can see the bungee cords in the following picture. They simply pull the back end of the seat down which in turn keeps pressure on the levers and keeps them on one end of the backlash.

Backlash is experienced when the motor changes direction, so I'm not understanding how this would help that. Could you explain?

by adding bungee cords to pull down and stop backlash you add to the amount of torque needed to lift the rear of the sim. surely the weight of a person sitting on the sim is enough to keep the backlash to a minimum like the bungees do with out adding to the torque needed to turn the motor. all wormgear motors have some backlash or they would be so tight they would wear the gears super quick or a tiny amount of debris would jam the gears and stop the motor. just my opinion but hope it helps
