This thread about a DIY arduino button box might serve as a starting point.

Also the threads in the DIY peripherals would probably have what you are looking for.

[QUOTE = "bixler13, post: 175754, miembro: 32568"] Este hilo sobre una caja de botones de arduino puede servir como punto de partida.

También los hilos en los periféricos de bricolaje probablemente tengan lo que estás buscando. [/ QUOTE]
Thank you very much, mate, I'll give you a look, thank you.

Here I enclose the schema and the arduino program, remember to copy the libraries in the arduino library, otherwise it will give you an error when compiling the project

You must use Arduino Pro Micro, otherwise it will fail to compile due to failure of the joystick library, (USB)

To make the sequential change you would have to modify the arduino code or use this board that I have, you can use many buttons. You can find it in aliexpress, amazon ... its name is "usb zero delay", perfect for sequential change switches

what you need is obviously arduino leonardo or pro micro, analog sensor (potensiometer or hall effect sensor+magnet)

for software and firmware there bunch of option. you can use EMC, aiwave, arduino joystick

just go to youtube and search you need, there is a lot of tutorial for DIY sim racing hardware

you need install arduino IDE first...
and than you need to choose what software and firmware...
    install it...
    set the wiring...
    and done...

maybe you can watch this video...but it's indonesian language, but you can turn subtitle on...
