    It doesn't appear that you set smc3 to mode 2 in the sketch. It won't work with ibt-2 until you do.

    You are using the wrong output settings for smc3.

    Setup for Simtools 2 is very straight forward:

    [A<Axis1a>][B<Axis2a>][C<Axis3a>]

    Set for 10bit binary output

    Baud rate 500000 , N , 8 , 1 (10ms delay)

    Are you closing smc3 utilities before starting simtools? Two apps can't talk to an arduino on the same com port at the same time so the first one connected locks out the other.
