    Hi,

Completely new to the idea of building a motion simulator. What I want to build is something to use for Elite Dangerous and Star Citizen (if possible).

I live in Nottinghamshire, UK and work as a Software Developer. Not sure if I'm going to be able to build one but I plan on having a lot of fun trying (and learning something in the process)

    Stephen.

    Welcome @Stephen Wheelwright.

We have a plugin for Elite Dangerous and you could use the universal Joystick plugin for Star Citizen, as it is nowhere stable enought to build a dedicated motion plugin at this stage.

Have a look at existing member builds, that may help you refine your own project design: http://www.xsimulator.net/community/forums/diy-motion-simulator-projects.22/

You will find the FAQ section covers many detailed build related topics: http://www.xsimulator.net/community/faq/

We have a glossary for all those acronyms we tend to use, which will help you decipher some descriptions: http://www.xsimulator.net/community/faq/glossary-of-acronyms-and-names.66/

When you are ready please start your own project thread here: http://www.xsimulator.net/community/forums/diy-motion-simulator-projects.22/

My name is Wayne and I am from England. I have zero knowledge about any of this. I came here after looking at possible getting a 6dof for my Rift.

    Welcome @Ennogs.

    Building a 6DOF is certainly possible: http://www.xsimulator.net/community/faq/list-of-6dof-projects.179/

But it is a somewhat complex and potentially costly first time project. So spend plenty of time going over every page of existing 6DOF member projects. It may also be a good idea to first build a cheap working model: http://www.xsimulator.net/community/faq/build-a-working-model-to-test-your-design-ideas.216/

You will find plenty to get you started in the FAQs, from design software, dimension of sims, to PSUs, pots, motors, JRKs, Arduinos and Motor Monsters and more: http://www.xsimulator.net/community/faq/

We have a glossary for all those acronyms we tend to use, which will help you decipher some descriptions: http://www.xsimulator.net/community/faq/glossary-of-acronyms-and-names.66/

Good luck with your 6DOF project.

Hi, my name Mathieu, I'm a french Canadian from Montreal, Quebec. Obviously here because the passion for sim racing and because I have a bunch of infos to get from you guys.

At first, all I wanted was a simple G27 wheel for ps3. Now I'm currently building a full cockpit, 2 seater, with fanatec clubsport stuff...! I guess i'm addited now.

So that is kind of why I am here; I play consoles racing games (don't hate me! I would like to go pc but a good one is very expensive) and I was looking to get my rig moving and installing gamedash.

The thing is, I know a guy here release a plugin for Pcars on xbox one, but will Forza Motorsport saga could works with gamedash and motion? If so, I just don't know where to start...

Anyways, here a couple of pics of my build TOTALY unfinished! I have to change/fix rails of the seats, fix the rooftop, fix and extend my csp v2 wheel base to fit the dash, paint it black... etc, etc, on and on before even thinking of motion and gamedash!

    Bref, nice to meet you!

    Welcome @BlackChevelle.

Console support is currently limited to one plugin, that may change in the future but certainly not encompassing the sort of game coverage PCs enjoy.

Hello to all. I'm VBAlk, a new member in this forum.
I have a 2DOF SCN6 simulator and in this site I bought Premium Access (€ 59 one time), so I became a gold contributor.
By the way: I downloaded main software ("Motion Simulation Software SimTools v1.3" by yobuddy) and a plugin ("OutRun 2006: Coast 2 Coast Plugin 1.0.0.4" by value1); why my balance shows -20 coins? I bought Premium Access to have no limitation in downloads.
    Thanks in advance.

    Welcome @VBAlk.

While the coin system can be used to gain limited access to plugins, its primary purpose is to encourage and be an incentive for forum participation: https://www.xsimulator.net/community/faq/coins-how-to-get-them-and-how-to-give-them.74/

When you are ready please start your own project thread and tell us about your motion simulator.

If it is a DIY rig create the thread here: http://www.xsimulator.net/community/forums/diy-motion-simulator-projects.22/

If it is a commercial rig, start the thread here: https://www.xsimulator.net/community/forums/commercial-simulators-and-prototypes.52/

Feel free to ask questions on your thread.

I look forward to hearing and hopefully seeing more of your 2DOF motion simulator, please do post some pictures and if possible a video of it in action, once you have it up and running.
