Guys some days ago i stared to build a diy air compresor, using a old refrigerator compresor and some pneumatic parts, the whole thing will cost me around 50 usdlls...

considering that we could have a nice, quiet and cheap air compresor... is still a afordable and recomendable use a pneumatic sistem insted of the good arduino and wiper motors?

    best regards from mexico

I do not know much about pneumatic sim motion platforms but I do use it with some of my woodworking machines. I would wonder how you would manage speed adjustment though?

    Hi !

On racinfgr.com, Riton39 has been building dynamics simulators since 2007 !... and started with pneumatics.

From his feedbacks, I have understood that pneumatic was rather slow
    and noisy (air exhausts)
    and dirty (oil needed)

His preferred system is nowadays AC motors with frequency variator.

for racing, you need accuracy and speed, hence air doesnt really cut the mustard. A good hydraulic sim is the way, but that is hideously expensive. Hence we stick to dc or fast ac motors.

AC motors are way too slow for a race sim lucky to push 28rpm accurately, we are punching 180rpm with dc motors.
Back to the question, response time is way to slow for race, make a good flight deck.

Wise decision Ferslash - You paint your simulator with it:)

Thought you already had a running sim mate, on to the second one.
Forget air way too slow and yes use the airbrush to detail the sim, bit slow to paint the whole sim.
