Those are what direct drive steering wheels use, I also use one for the spindle drive in my CNC mill, and will put one on my Monarch 10ee lathe. Servos are nothing more than AC motors with built in encoder, and appropriate drive.

Hi all please excuse what may be a obvious question, have read through the pages but can’t find the answer, how many VFD’s are required can you wire all the ac motors to one or do you require one for each motor.
    Kind Rgds

    Hello there,
You will need 1VFD for Each Motor Used. 3 DOF = 3 ea - 3 phase motors, "inverter duty", and 3 ea VFD's.
I had to stop motion simulation due to so health reasons about 4 years ago. It's ashamed to live in the UK, as I have 3 Inverter, 3 phase motors, and 3 VFD's - All have less than 30 hours use.
    Good luck,
    Tom
