Using sequencing program to sync motion to video

    Hello all,

I am working on a project in which I would like to sync motion (and other) events to video. A good example of what I would like to do is sync motion to a roller coaster video, or car chase sequence.

Ideally I would like to enter the movements in (whatever program) 'live' as the video plays, but I am also fine with a piano roll type editor.

I know that many advanced programs such as Cubase or Ableton's Live could do something like this, but those programs are just WAY too expensive. I am looking for a cheaper alternative.

In addition to the above, I would also like to know how one would interface a computer to motion actuators. I would prefer a DIY project interface as I am good with electronics and can wield a soldering iron pretty well.

    Thank You,

    Geo

Hello. I had started a similar thread here. (post30655.html#p30655).

Once we add effects to video frames in the plugin, do we need to create a profile next?

Present an algorithm that synchronizes two short video sequences where an object undergoes ballistic motion against stationary scene points. The object’s motion and epipolar geometry are exploited to guide the algorithm to the correct synchronization in an iterative manner. Our algorithm accurately synchronizes videos recorded at different frame rates, and takes few iterations to converge to sub-frame accuracy. We use synthetic data to analyze our algorithm’s accuracy under the influence of noise.
