I'm planning to use 41x41 Unistrut. I'll measure up tonight to see how this suits.

If anyone is interested the company I found is ims-ltd (Can't post links yet but it's a co.uk website) and they've been really helpful!

Is it not a problem that the axes of the ball joints are not aligned ?
You will not generate 2 rotation centers?

In addition, the ball joints will abut on the body of the cardan and it will limit the movements not?

You using only 10-15 degrees of rotation, not 360, so no impact on movement at all :) , and for me it was easy to assemble, actually you can make it in one line, no problem, this is just my solution. Four joints four bolt one line and here you go.

And one more thing, if i understand mechanics, with my solution i lowering center of gravity a bit. So less work for motors. But if not, then still everything works just fine. :)

Will the 2 12mm rod end links be strong enough to support 250 lbs?
