    hi! So I got inspired by Roland van Roy´s 3DOF motion platform. and started to think about maybe build one of those instead of a 2DOF. My only question is if X-sim software can support 3DOF and if there is a way to use 3 DC motors with thanos AMC board? And if there is mayor programming to make X-sim work with a 3DOF platform with almost the same setup as Roland.

    Posting a nice Paint picture to show the position of the actuators!
    The black thing on the picture is the actuators and the red is the platform.. doh :p

    No, x-sim doesn't support such coordinated motion of 3DOF. A special math plugin should be implemented for that.

    I do this in hardware in my microcontroller electronics! Here is some parts of the math section of my prototype firmware (AMC):

    DBank = 128 - Bank
    DPitch = 128 - Pitch
    DHeave = 128 - Heave

    Front = 128 + DPitch
    Front = Front + DHeave

    BackRight = 128 - DPitch
    BackRight = BackRight + DHeave
    BackRight = BackRight - DBank

    BackLeft = 128 - DPitch
    BackLeft = BackLeft + DHeave
    BackLeft = BackLeft + DBank

    Ok Thanks, thanos!

    To my next question can your AMC --> Hbrigde handel 3 motors? I can remember something about it, like if you connect a second Hbridge where the lcd screen should go! or am I just dreaming for it? haha

    No, I did made that, but my lack of time held me back on this. Its still in beta.

    I connected both LCD and 2x DSMhb1.2b on one AMC1.5... ;-)
    With new firmware for 3DOF...

    Hi Thanos,

    Any update here? I'm going to build 3DOF using big AC beasties and i'm in a process of finding a solution to control them...
    Velleman VM140 looks like the easiest way to go but what about xsim? Can it handle it?

    regards, Pooh.

    hi guys,

    My MDbox isn't sending anything t0 my Actuators. I've done the factory reset and set everything up again twice...

    Any thoughts/advice?

    My Motion Simulator:
    AC motor, Motion platform, 4DOF, 6DOF
    To completely reset the MDBOX:

    Fn 008=3721
    Fn 007= 1 and Fn 009=3
    F1 007= 3 and F1 009=1
    F2 007= 3 and F2 009=1
    F3 007= 3 and F3 009=1

    Then apply normal parameters for application

    Thanks
