    @Rufus....
    If i was able to, i would give you a massive handshake and a pat on the back for starting this project.
    This strikes so many chords with me its untrue, and iv got to say, in the nicest possible way, im a little jealous, Of the skills and knowledge you possess in order to get this started.
    I too wanted to bridge the gap between the consumer wheels and direct drive but lack the knowledge to do so. I too thought about the stepper motor with encoder to create a closed loop system.
    Im super excited by your work, i just hope you can get it ready sooner rather than later:)

    Please keep me posted

    Hi, the latest update is I've now designed and built a second version of the motor driver board. It has been working well for a while and I'm now fine tuning the math algorithms to drive the motor.

    Given the effort it has taken I have decided I will offer completed boards for sale when I am finally happy. Hopefully more news soon.

    @Historiker or other admins, you may wish to move this thread to the commercial section given my decision to sell boards.

    Hello, you're going to put the motor to determine the commercial version yet?

    Rather than move this one you might open a new thread for the latest version in the commercial section. The information here is still helpful to DIY.

    @Historiker, sounds good, will do!

    @LI JIAN HUI, I will not be selling a complete sim wheel, just a motor driver.

    After my initial rush of blood thinking I could whip one of these direct drive thingys up in no time... your thread has confirmed for me that it was just a foolish pipedream! So, once you have these available, please let us know, postage to Sydney wont be much...:thumbs

    @RufusDufus - I'll be joining the VERY LONG queue to buy one of these bad boys once you have everything down pat.

    Are you going to offer complete kits or just the Motor Controller board?

    good stuff, how do you compare it to previous ffb wheels you've used?
