As fast as the game requires it but remember that all three axis will be moving at the same time so all you feel will be a very smooth ride and about the size I am working on a very compact module that will fit in an area of about 5'×5'×6' so it will fit easily on your game room.

You will be able to be in a alien spaceship and do all the maneuvers that you've seen on star wars and all SciFi movies.

Very funny what if you have to go into a planet on your way to the center of galaxy and you do all kinds of evasive maneuvers when a fleet of fighter jets try to shoot you down because you are invading their planet?

    What if?

Even though you didn’t start this thread the original questions were, “My question for the more experienced sim-builders is this: why isn’t everyone doing this? What makes this hard/expensive/impossible to do?” This tread was started almost 5 years ago and these questions have been answered here and in other threads; the idea is not new. But so far, all you have tried to do is convince those of us that know better (the more experienced sim-builders) that this is a good idea for a simulator. Well, it just isn’t going to happen so best you just accept that.

However, the concept is not impossible even though it is a bad one for a so-called “simulator”. But if you really want to build it then fricken build it then! We will be glad to help you where we can but you have yet to post a thread on how you intend to do so and what you would like help with. So get busy or zip it!

I'm not being funny, just stating a fact. You may not think it, but we are just trying to help. I have a feeling that this thread will just fade away over time like many similar others. Less talk, more action and we may take you seriously.

Let's do it! OK I was trying to buy slip rings for the joints but they asked me for my company name, do I need to have a company to buy what I need to build my Sim?

If a particular company that you are buying from requires that you be a company too then yes, otherwise no. If one does, find a supplier that doesn’t. Try ebay. They have what you need in slip rings and I’ve never been required to provide a company name from any sellers there. :)

You would almost certainly need to fabricate the parts, it would be unlikely there is suppliers that match exactly what you want to do.

The closest I have seen (and been in) to what you are describing is this:

And this thing was built from the ground up to play one game, and one game only.

I'm not an experienced sim builder by any means, but given what you are suggesting it would be HEAPS cheaper to go out, buy an old R360 and restore it, rather than build one.

I'm only doing a 2Dof - I consider myself to be quite technical and can fabricate if I need too - and even it's a challenge!! ;)
