    Deciding on seats...

Find this one from a Sega Rally 2 machine (the one in the first two pics) Price is fine same as a cheap seat

Then for more than double the price:

Do you have the option to go sit in any of them? That is the best way to decide, as you may being using it for hours at a time.

I had style 2 and found it lacked lower lumbar support, but then I am guessing that may vary depending on manufacturer.

I can try the #1 and it can be a nice touch, I have to check if it is confortable enough...also looks heavier than the rest.
I like the #2 most, but it is not cheap at all.
Yes, I think I will try some of them before taking any decision, but I wonder what the rest of the people think.

I was looking for a simple bucket seat like number 3, but $116 is about the cheapest it's sold here in Sweden and isn't in my small budget so I'm building my own from an office chair. If you have some strong light wood then that's also an cheap option.

Yes it is another option, but the seat it is something I will be using in any sim project, so I try to get the best I can price/quality wise.

I actually like the look of the cheap seat! I'd stay clear of the Sega Rally seat, it's an Arcade seat and is designed for about 3 minutes use and easy to wipe down etc, so no comfort and heavy-duty, to cope with repeated use.

In expensive seats you are usually paying for FIA / Racing approval, but seeing as this is going in a sim, you will likely find a cheaper seat is just as comfortable.

Ive got a couple different seats, Sparco Fighter, Sparco Speed 2 and now I use a Aero Designes Arges....basically #2.....found it locally for 300$ well worth the $$ imo. Its something you'll be sitting in for Hours at a time So Dont cheap out. Get something with a decently thick butt pad, Buddy went with a Cheaper Knock off brand and the padding ins't exactly super thick.

Nice thing about a Bucket seat too is for Tactile, The Bolt through method is ridiculously effective with a couple Gamer 2's attached to sockets.

    Thanks for your reply!
I know about the FIA approval, the one I'm choosing is the same brand but with no FIA approval seal (basically exactly the same :p ) but I was the pic I got, this is the exactly one:

Just curious, how much is a seat like that in US$?

Your lucky to find even crap seats for less than $250 in AU. :(
