Sorry for the radio silence but I have decided to totally redesign the base of the rig as with you and @SeatTime having no issues like myself I think something is wrong so I have been working hard and will update as soon as I'm finished.

Ok so took away the extensions for the platform and rearranged the actuators.

Modified the base to change everything lol what a hectic day and a half, now I have to re wire everything and change the software setup a little hopefully be running tomorrow sometime.

Just cleaned up what a mess it was. The beauty of working with wood you can just change stuff pretty easily.

I've worked it out with my amazing maths that I will have about 50mm clearance from the ceiling and my head when I'm sat on the chair at 100% of the axis :D Good thing is I'm the tallest person I know so I fit everyone else will fit.

WOW again @SilentChill radio silence forgiven LOL damm gezza you are fast , love the idea if how you mounted the rose joints on the lower frame ( very nice lateral thinking ) hope you can steal another couple of inches height wise or you'll be removing floor joist in the lounge LOL.. Very nice and rapid update good buddy, so the icing on the cake will be for you to get the result you need and for you to get back the faith in the 2X32's ,, I have a 2x60 as well but hoping it wont be required .. Well done that man :)

Well I've managed to completely shear a motor coupler in half o_O cheap chinese crap again lol

So before that I was testing but still the 2x32's were stalling on hard reverses on anything above around 170PWM. I did however start a quick run just before my coupler snapped with PWM at 165 and KP at 600 and it seemed pretty good. I just don't understand whats wrong with it at full power theres not much weight to lift.

Well just gotta wait now for ne 2x60's and a new motor coupler.

Be back with an update in a few weeks :(

Best go and update the ED plugin now ;)

Okay got my 2x60's installed and also a 75ah battery connected. Got PWMmax set to 210 and its running ok so far, motors are getting rather warm though

that looks good! Doesn't look too slow for sure, despite greater reduction ratio than with gearboxes.

Do you know if that ride used the full speed of the actuators? I'm still trying to persuade myself that my 3000rpm motors will be sufficiently quick :)

Im running at 210 pwm so there is another 45 to play with which it isnt using so probably around a 1/5th of total power/speed not used take 1/5th off 4000rpm = 3200rpm so im running at about what yours will run at at 3000rpm :D it will be fine matey :thumbs

:thumbs @SilentChill ..:) im begining to see that I'm not nowhere near stressing my unit to the levels you are testing at ..those babies are taking a pounding but DAMMM that looks Awesome mate .Was impressed with your work before and now its through the roof ,, I was just running mine still test dummy sitting in seat in auto mode and thought I was tripping it ,,,,D'oh

Now this mean I gotta stop pussy footing around and really crank thus puppy up ,maybe then i'll understand why im not seeing the levels of current draw your seeing ( judging by the reaction times and the SMC graph plot your actuators and sensors are preety well ---male that dam well matched synch wise ....:cheers

Excellent stuff very impressed good buddy

Forgot to ask . why the jitter on the green section of Simtools . is that Pot noise ??

Thanks @wannabeaflyer2 it is working well and no point fannying around with it you gotta grab it by the balls and make it scream !!!! hahaha

Honestly though its so much better than my old geared motors, you can feel so much more.

My motors are getting very hot though, sabertooths are fine they are luke warm the fans haven't even kicked in.

Like I say these motors are beasts and are drawing a ridiculous ammount or current.

Lots of tuning centre tweaking now get games up and running right. Already nearly there with Dirt just not happy with surge and sway.

@SilentChill - Excellent to see your rig now moving along nicely (2 x 60 seem to be working OK:think). Re hot motors, do you have any passive cooling on these motors or are they sealed? Similar to your old rig, I took my motors apart and drilled out the case so there is flow through convection cooling (was originally going to fit fans - but it was never needed). Never had a motor get warm enough to notice. Also are you running any gas struts? Your heave also seems to be setup too sensitive?
Hi @wannabeaflyer2 , looking forward to your next video - with the wick turned up, Dirt rally can be a rough ride.

Hi matey hope you had a good cruise ;)

Yeah the motors are sealed but I didn't think that they would get hot as I thought that they would easily lift the rig considering I can turn the actuator with my thumb and finger up or down. The motors are constantly drawing a little power as they are just not quite getting back to the feedback line by millimetres, I can increase the Ki but then that makes movement erratic or increase deadzone but then that make it just feel all wrong and misses the smaller movements. Something is just not right with these motors and I can't quite figure it out, however they were hot after being on for about 5 hours so I suppose that maybe to be expected lol

I will have to try and source some struts as the ones I got like you said were way way way to stiff lol

In the video all the settings are way out sorted it a little more after, I have heave set at 18 now with roll and pitch at 12/11 but surge and sway are a bit erratic set it a little too low at 6/7 it doesn't do anything and set it just a little too high 3/4 and its rough as hell. Got traction loss at 6 I think.

I will carry on with testing/tweaking tonight
