    AC "IS" suitable for reversing.

    You use an "inverter duty" AC Motor and a good VFD and the will work forward/reverse for years.

    Remember that mine is only a prototype, just wanted to prove it was possible.
    To make a good 6DOF have to use more powerful engines and better electronics.
