    Hi Folks,

Would really appreciate a your input here.

I am new to 2dof motion simulators and planning a build. I am not sourcing parts and I have started with the pneumatic components.

This is a picture of a lot that is for sale in my local area (used) - the lot is selling for $175. Because I am so new to this, I am not sure if this is the correct type of equipment to buy for 2dof.

Please let me know your thoughts and I appreciate you taking the time.

    Matt

I would suggest you first work out a design preference. Have a look at existing member builds, that may help you refine your own project ideas: http://www.xsimulator.net/community/forums/diy-motion-simulator-projects.22/

Then work out what is required to drive it, SimCaloc can be a handy tool to do that: https://www.xsimulator.net/communit...e-linear-speed-and-forces-of-your-design.270/

And unless you want to figure out how to control pneumatic actuators I would recommend going with a more traditional approach and use DC motors with wormdrive gearboxes: https://www.xsimulator.net/community/faq/dc-motors-shopping-list.32/

Or if you want actuators you can build your own DC powered version: https://www.xsimulator.net/community/faq/diy-linear-actuators.248/

I don't remember seeing any pneumatic simulators here.. I'm not sure if they are good enough for simulators anyway, how fast can they move when it comes to vibrations and similar fast movements?

If it's your first journey to building simulator, go with the proven to work setups. A lot of good projects are here, simple to build.
