    Hi guys. I stumbled on this page while looking for alternatives to the scn5's. Think I might stick around :). Anyways I have an electronics engineering b of s but I've been away from that scene for almost 7 years. Is there a thread or FAQ page with terminology and lingo to get me up to speed?

    Well then, I see a lot of people using jargon like 2DOF, 3DOF, etc. Is this is reference to the number of servos/actuators/motors used in the motion rig? Or is this a specific type of motion driven system? I've had a peek at SimTools and I'm wondering how you interface the motion controls with a PC is there an external/internal controller card that people are using? If these questions are already answered somewhere, feel free to direct me there. The more I can read the better my questions will become. Thanks in advance!

    I did find this thread (http://www.xsimulator.net/community...3dof-motor-driver-and-windows-utilities.4957/) and it explains a lot of what I was asking. I'm still interested in the 2DOF/3DOF bits and their explanation.

    My Motion Simulator:
    2DOF, DC motor, Arduino, SimforceGT
    DOF = Degrees Of Freedom
    2DOF is usually pitch+roll
    3DOF might be pitch+roll+yaw
    Etc.
