What happens when testing and you can't set cutoff to more than 255 and comes off edge of slide frame. Was working well in AC until this happened.
Magic smoke escaped so next project is to extend frame.

    Thanks to @steveh2112
find this line in the main loop() function
    Feedback1 = analogRead(FeedbackPin1);
    add the following after
    Feedback1 -= 512; // STEVE Feedback1 is 10bit, 512 is center
    Feedback1 *= 2; // STEVE scale range by 2
    Feedback1 += 512; // STEVE

do the same for Feedback2 and Feedback3 if you need it
now your pots will have twice the effect as before
(remember to download it to the arduino)

This temporarily solved my issue with feedback not reaching clip and cutoff limits on my traction loss motor.
Extending frame to allow full travel and a loose 10k pot connection was the root cause.

Upgraded loss of traction (doubled) and aligned wheels to direction of travel , much freer movement.

Also changed to steel slider plates as aluminum was to soft (bent and wore a groove in plate).

This looks like a great resource for my first build. I will also be doing VR and I like the fact that this setup seems to have given you some trouble free enjoyment.

any advice for a guy starting off down this road? I’ve been looking at the different builds on here and this seems very close to what I would like to start with.

    Hi ChuckyP
Read lots and start small , learn to weld if you don't know how already. Just do one thing at a time, don't rush it.
I've gone off VR after I was playing dirt rally2 and I got very motion sick after 1 hour and needed 4 hrs plus to recover, felt sick just looking at it after that. Decided 3 screens are the way to go for long racing sessions.

Hi, I weigh 100kg and the motors don't even get hot (just warm). I'd check your rigs balance if it's balanced right the motors are only lightly loaded.
