Question Multiple or single power supply

    As the title indicates I'm wondering if it is better to run a single power supply to three motors or have three individual power supplies. My thoughts are with individual power supplies I am 3 times more likely that one can go bad. However with a single power supply it's usually about three times the cost and if it goes bad I'm out the money that it would have cost for all 3.
    I have three motors rated at 440 Watts each. I'm thinking of just doing a 2000w power supply to run everything at 24 volts.
    What would be the community's thoughts?

    One thing to consider is that motors on a sim generate huge power spikes on fast reversals, personally I prefer multiple PSUs.

    are the motors 12v / 24v ?

    consider using a battery to buffer the power spikes and then you only need a single power supply to top them up
