    Hello All

Currently, I have to four of the 24V 250W(3000RPM) with Worm Geared Motors 60:1 Gear Ratios : Finally 50RPM / 25NM. / Kangaroo x2 Motion Controller / Sabertooth Motor Drivers.

However, I don't want to use to be ball screw.

Because, Its seems to makes big noise when Its working on, I just watched to users DIY actuators video.

The noise is extremely acute for people living in apartments and houses. :(

So, I think for this, the Six of the 24V DC 250W with the Worm Geared Motors Not Bad choice for the works to 6DOF.

    My weights about 75kg and 50inch 4K TV-Motor is about 15kg and 27inch Monitors about 5kg.

It is be able to make 6DOF with the Six of the 24V DC 250W with the Worm Geared Motors?

    Thanks

    Best Regards,

    Younghoon

Depending on how they are designed, the noise is not that bad and in the example below you can hear the rattling of the G27 steering wheel over the actuators. Also the 'ball bearing' noise is not that annoying. But yes, a good quality worm gear should be quieter, but unfortunately allot less efficient - worm gear approx 60% likely worse with a 60:1 ratio, while ballscrews are around 90%. I run 6 x 350W (rated) motors with ballscrews and a really light rig - all carbon fibre and no monitor (video shows my old steel rig which was still light for a steel rig). There are always compromises/trade-offs in most designs :). Also, unfortunately from my experience depending on who built the motor, the actual rating/torque of the motor may not be correct or it could be a peak/15minute rating and not continuous. The only real way to be sure is to load test it or purchase known/tested motors - I had to test four different motors before I was confident in purchasing more motors and building my rig. Hope that helps, but maybe not the simple answer that you wanted to hear.. really depends on how much risk you are prepared to take :).
