    My Motion Simulator:
    2DOF
    Hi Guys,

First of all i'd like to thank you for an amazing project!

    I have a simple 2DOF Setup
    1 x arduino mega
    1 x Sabertooth 2x32
    2 x 24v Mobility Scooter motors
    2 x 24v Power Supplies
    60mm Arms

All setup, motion, software, sims work as expected with one exception.

Motion in one direction is slower than the other.

Surge forward = both motors push forward at 100% speed
Surge Backwards = both motors pull backwards at approx. 50% speed.

This applies to SMC3 software (one motor at a time) and Simtools (both motors)

I have followed the guides with reference to sabertooth dip switches and config and tried all permutations of settings in SMC3

    Any ideas?

    Many thanks

    Chris

Is there a setting for smc3 cw and ccw pwm ?

    Use the smc3 utility

    Thanks for for reply

From memory the DEScribe application doesn’t have those settings… but I will double check.

    thanks again

I cannot find any settings referring to cw & ccw speeds in either SMC3 or DEScribe. I thought i was on to something with Exponential settings but sadly not.

are your pwm and pwmrev settings both at 255 ?

yes, I’ve tried pwmrev at 0 and 255

I’m going to disconnect the seat today to ensure the testing isn’t torque biased. The centre of gravity of the frame on the UV joint naturally falls forward without weight in the seat.

if that all tests ok, I will try changing the arduino software from @BlazinH to another

Just to clarify, are you using @BlazinH's modified SMC3 for Sabertooth?
