Do you have all of your jumpers installed? My AMC 1.5 has one up in the right corner. See picture. And in the lower right it looks like it may need one?
there is a jumper by the switches too that I can't see.

Sure, if you want to send it to me and have it programmed, just IM me for my address buddy!

Jumpers? I have only three on my board, should I have four?

Thanks, maybe this will be my ticket! I checked my board there is not a place to put a jumper at that spot. My board v1.5 was updated 13-8-2008, is there another?

The closer I look at it; you may just be using a newer layout than mine.
Feel free to send the chip for programming if you’re stuck buddy!

Yeah, I started freaking out, but I saw a v1.5b with a jumper, in that area. The footprint is a little different. Yes, I will send the chip tomorrow or Monday.

    Greetings,
I am still trying to figure out this board... aside from getting a bad batch of atmegas, I think my zeners are positioned correctly (see pic). My crystal appears smaller than the ones used in your boards, could this be it? I'm getting my atmega checked out by Yobuddy, I should hear something in 3 or 4 days.:( DSC04701.JPG

I am having the sema problem as you, I tryed wtih 24mhz crystal but not success missing or unknown device, so I chenged to 18432mhz crystal and nothig again.

I have tested all the board conections and it is allright, I dont know what could be.

I will try to with another chip, i am using a usb converter, if anyone know how to make a serial cable let me know so I will make one to see if the problem is the cable.

Well... seeing this thread confirm's my thoughts for kits with pre-programmed microcontroller.

Actually yesterday I finalized my bootloader code that allows simple users to upgrade the firmware without the hassle of using any programmer circuit or ponyprog anymore. It works great over USB-serial and has a simple GUI on the pc side!!

PS. (lol... posted in wrong thread before... too early in the morning)

    Greetings,
Another quick question. I have a combination of metal film type and carbon resistors, on the AVR could that be the problem? It is reaching, a little, I know. Yobuddy, the crystal thing did not work, Thanks for trying, back to the drawing board. :?

This is the error-free cable style :D

There are two important things to notice:
1 - Make this cable long enough. I made mine too short and regret about it.
2 - Make a solder job better than mine lol

    regards,
    rafael.

Ongoing delemma, yesterday, I tried replacing all of the carbon resistors to metal film resistors, 13 in all.
Nothing changed.... Today I plan on replacing the capacitors...., somethings got to give. :?
