Sadly I don't believe there is confirmation of native VR support :(

Unfortunately you can't trust what Microsoft shows in renderings and trailers for their upcoming flight titles ever since they put out fake renderings of what FSX would look like but didn't :(.

Insane the graphics, though without VR not on my shopping list imho. Aerofly FS2 is almost very close to the new FSX shown in the video above, of course less animations, less details, less detail depth in terms of a professional flight simulation etc. but the visuals are considerable outstanding.

Well things are looking up, with this latest announcement including reference to community requests for VR support, among other things: https://fsi.microsoftstudios.com/

We should also be requesting telemetry API for motion simulation in these early days of development.

    July 11th, 2019 – Development Update

As the team enters the dog days of summer, we’ve been hard at work putting the finishing touches on many of the big updates we’re planning to share toward the end of summer. Our excitement continues to build, as does our impatience to share this information with you. So we press forward counting down the days until we can open the hangar doors and dive into the details with you.

There are many very important topics being discussed in the community (e.g. New Flight Model/IFR-VFR Flight/Weather Simulation Depth/VR Support, etc.). The team is constantly monitoring the feedback/suggestions being discussed and please know that many of these topics and more, will be covered thoroughly in near future updates.

In the meantime, here’s a work-in-progress screenshot, and confirmation that the Insider Program will be starting in early August as part of our development roadmap kickoff.

On July 25th, we will be releasing another update on our plans for August and September. Until next time, know that the team is excited and anxious to share more information with you.

I decided to sign up, it does not guarantee that you will be involved, but I might get lucky :).

Latest video update - looks amazing. Unfortunately when it releases no VR for some time, so a bit useless for me :(.

The new MSFS is looking like a dream! I have signed up for the insider program. I bought an I9 32GB ram, SSD and an Nvidia 2080 to get ready for it. I am living in hope right now. :)

Microsoft have finally responded to calls for VR support in MSFS 2020 with this statement:

"Well, so I would say it this way, as I said earlier we are listening carefully to what the community is saying, and right after the E3 trailer came out there was a lot of people making that exact assumption that, "oh yeah, this better be supporting VR right from the get-go".

It honestly wasn't our plan, but we are listening, and we heard it, so we will try our darnedest to make it happen. Whether or not we're going to pull it off for launch, we don't .. we can't commit to that at this point in time, but we have the desire. Given that we genuinely want to make the sim that simmer want, we will try to prioritise that over other things. [...] We'll adjust our plans based on feedback we're getting."

Since they are using FSX as a starting point Microsoft must not have completely relinquished their rights to it or there was a time component involved. In any case since Microsoft studios isn't involved hopefully we can believe what they tell us about its capabilities this time before we see for ourselves.

Ignore the babble about the commercial 6DOF rig, the important take away @ 5:42 is that MS 2020 works with SimTools, @yobuddy can you confirm that?

    @noorbeast,
I honestly don't think there is a plugin for it yet.
If the game has the same output as the old version, the older plugin may work.
(but you would have to trick simtools into starting up with the new "game.exe".)
So I think we will need one for the new title.
    (When it comes out)

That makes the comments in the video intriguing, as it would suggest a commercial vendor with access to MS2020 has already resolved that, without making mention of it here. Or alternatively they are blowing smoke up the tailpipe.

Think it's time to get into the cockpit again.

Do you already know that video?
