My son and I have embarked on a project to turn our non-motion racing cockpit into a 2DOF simulator. Our goal is to make an inexpensive sim using readily available parts and open source code. We want to document the whole project and offer the plans, parts, and code for others who would like to build the same setup. For this purpose we have started the following blog to announce our progress and to document everything:

    http://www.kwilinski.org/Racing_Simulator/Blog/Blog.html

I'm sure we will be coming to this site frequently for support. We have already learned a great deal from reading all the great information available here.

    Regards,

Re: NEW 2DOF Racing Sim Build (FREX style but with motors)

Great idea ! I have the same project (build a 2DOF simulator with motor, a FREX like). So if I can help you I will do ;)

    Good luck !

Updated the blog (see signature for link) to include an animation of the body style in which we intend to build the simulator.
